  • I thought my new portable AC did not require draining, as was advertised, but the Owners Manual has a section on how to drain the unit...Why?
Any Plasma Series or NanoMax portable AC unit equipped with AutoDrain NanoMist Technology does not require draining of the unit or continuous drain function.

The unit only requires draining before you intend to store it at the end of the season, and that is why there is a section of your Owners Manual on draining the unit. The AutoDrain NanoMist Technology™ automatically pumps the excess water up through the unit, and converts the water into a fine NanoMist that floats out your window to the outside. A certain amount of the internal water is also utilized by the unit in an energy saving evaporative cooling technology, that helps your portable AC run more efficiently. Remember, you must connect the AutoDrain NanoMist water pipe and atomizer berfore operating your unit, to enjoy the benefit of the revolutionary auto drain feature.

DRAINAGE WATER OUTLET FOR END OF SEASON OR FOR NON-NANOMIST EQUIPPED UNITS

Every AC unit is equiped with a drainage water outlet to allow one to empty the unit thoroughly at end of season, or if the unit is not equipped with AutoDrain NanoMist Technology. For units not equipped with AutoDrain NanoMist Technology, a continuous drainage feature utilizing the enclosed drain tube, can easily be connected to the water outlet by taking the following steps:
    • Switch off the unit and remove the plug from the electrical outlet.
    • Remove the Drain Cap and rubber Stopper. Drain if necessary.
    • Connect the Drain Tube on the water outlet.
    • Place the other end in a drain or sump pump. Make sure tube is free from twists and bends. The tube must decline over its entire length.

  • Are portable Air Conditioner's recommended to cool Server Rooms or Sun Rooms?
The use of a Portable Air conditioner in a server room or sun room will reduce the cooling efficiency of the unit a significant amount due to the high levels of heat generated in the room; therefore, we do not recommend a portable AC to be used for this purpose.
  • What can be used to cool Server Rooms or Sun Rooms?
We suggest to check out our new innovative line of Ductless Split units, where we have a range of 9,000 - 24,000BTU AC units. We strongly advise that you conduct a heat load anaylisis on the room to see if our Ductless Split units are capable sufficient for your need.
  • Do the filters in the unit need to be cleaned?
Yes, Be sure to keep the filters clean! It is strongly recommended that one periodically checks and cleans the unit's filters thoroughly. The More often one does this, the better it is for your unit to funtion properly. Air filters that are not checked and cleaned periodically, over time may cause the unit to work less efficiently and possibly overheat over time. Please reference your Owner's Manual on the proper proceedure for this cleaning process.
Note: Portable AC's are not designed for use in computer server rooms and sun porches, where direct and concentrated heat, or heat from expansive banks of windows will overwelm the cooling performance of the units.
